Race behind the race

Two weeks after Monza, the spotlight shifts to Baku and its high-stakes street challenge at the 6.003-kilometer Baku City Circuit. The circuit is famous for its ultra-long flat-out run and tight Old City "castle" complex. The Grand Prix consists of 51 laps, striking a balance between low drag for the main straight and sufficient downforce for the technical middle sector.

Baku marks the beginning of the flyaway phase after Europe. From there, the tour continues to Singapore, then to the Americas and the Middle East to close out the year. The late-season run features a United States–Mexico doubleheader in October and a Las Vegas–Qatar–Abu Dhabi tripleheader from late November into December.

With Europe behind them, Formula 1 shifts from road convoys to air and sea freight. DHL transports up to 1,200 tons of cars, spare parts, broadcast equipment, and hospitality supplies per race. Its biofuel-powered truck fleet, used during the European leg, has reduced trucking emissions by an average of ~83%, aligning with Formula 1’s Net Zero 2030 initiative.
