Mexico Grand Prix
Welcome to the F1® Logistics Hub
Race behind the race
After Austin, Formula 1 heads south to Mexico City for the second leg of its tour of the Americas. The Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez will once again host 71 laps on its 4.304-kilometer layout. The famous Foro Sol stadium section creates one of the most electric atmospheres in the sport. Following the United States Grand Prix in Austin, the event precedes the São Paulo Grand Prix, forming a demanding sequence that tests teams and logistics alike.
At over 2,200 meters above sea level, the Mexico City circuit is the highest on the Formula 1 calendar. The thin air significantly impacts performance by reducing downforce and cooling efficiency while increasing straight-line speeds. For comparison, Austin sits at around 500 feet — underscoring the extreme conditions faced in Mexico.
The roughly 1,500-kilometer journey from Austin to Mexico City is short by Formula 1 standards yet challenging due to tight turnaround times. Most garage and hospitality equipment is transported by truck convoy, while the race cars and critical components travel by air freight to ensure everything arrives on schedule. DHL coordinates these multimodal movements to ensure efficiency and minimal environmental impact.
